Heater door clip

Anita and I are spending a few days in Birds Hill Provincial Park before heading back to Chicago and have full hook ups. I went to turn on the electric hot water element in the water heater and the closure tab broke off into four pieces. A spring, a clip(?) and the closure in two pieces. I have wired the door shut as a temporary fix.

The question is can I get the part anywhere other then Atwood, if so where. Any ides on a better fix? I'm only a little sure on how the parts go together as I mean who really looks at something like that.

Thanks for any help you can give.

PS, if this happened before and is on the forum could you lead me to the thread as search lead to too many results.

Ours broke too, Steven. They are common and available at most any RV center, shop, or service facility. Simple to DIYS

Mine came in a 2-Pack, Steven. I hope that is not an omen.....(one for now, one for later).
