We had to replace the front window on our 19 because we didn't latch down the rock guard properly. Thus, not under warranty. The rock guard and window is one complete unit. Leaning, lifting over the tongue and bending can be awkward and painful so I took it to my local RV dealer. It took them two hours to remove and install the new one and worth my piece of mind. Granted, I trust their work and am grateful I didn't need to challenge my abilities.

One time I had a faulty pump. I appreciate the warranty repair options and I opted to take it to a local shop to save my back. I was reimbursed in full. Reace has an honest and good handle on how much time a repair should take. Another time, he walked me through the process when we had an electrical failure. I appreciate the help provided even though we have owned our trailer past the warranty period. This is one of the reason we decided upon an Escape.

I spoke with ETI and learned that there was a period of time that Hehr delivered windows that were prone to this failure, and it extended into late 2017. My trailer was completed in October.

Of course this is under warranty and ETI has asked Hehr to send me a replacement window. The trick is getting it installed. I have to either return to Chilliwack or find an RV service center near Fort Worth that is willing to do a warranty repair for Hehr. The trip is out of the question, and so far I have not been able to find a place that is willing to do the work for whatever Hehr is willing to pay them.

My third option, and ETI's recommendation, is to replace it myself. It should be a half-hour job, I am told.

Have other people had this problem, how did you solve it, and what do you recommend?

Thanks in advance.
🤔 Just wondering, have you resolved your problem yet?

I have found a place that says they will install the window for me.

I am now waiting for the window from Hehr.

Well one thing this thread has pointed out to me...I need to take my trailer out and use the dickens out of it this year since it's the second year of a two year warranty. Luck for me I'm retiring April 20th....can't wait. Where to go first? Hmm....

I think I might go back to real work dealing with grandkids ( joy of our lives now ) and dealing with momma do list, I’m more worn out at the end of the day than when I worked...

Yep...I'm looking forward to promoting myself from "worker" to "retired" as soon as possible. Lots of projects and places calling me to visit.
