Helping your pet look out the window

Okay, I spent a night in the trailer with Spike, our cat. He really wanted to peer out the window, especially when it was cracked open. But standing on his hind legs, with his front on the dinette cushion back, wasn't exactly appealing to him. We don't have the dinette table, so he couldn't have sat up there. I'm not sure if a stack of pillows would have worked as I could see them falling over. He freaks out easily.

So, I'm wondering if anyone has built or purchased something they put near a window so their pet can comfortably peer out it. And would accommodate a 17+ pound kitty cat that loves sticking his nose to a window screen. (Yes, I know the window won't be opened enough for him to sneak out if the screen falls out.)

Links or photos would be great! Thanks!

And a huge paws up from Spike if I can get this figured out.

Yep, gonna try camping with him, so we'll see how it works out. Fingers crossed!

I've seen people mount a folding cage around the lower access hatch. The cat can get to from inside then be caged outside. This guy did one on his window. Kinda fun to look at other interesting ideas.

Might try a cardboard box box big enough to contain a stack of pillow so they don't fall over first and see if that works.

Then you could of course have someone make a box for you....

Oh, I like the idea of a cardboard box! Will have to root around in the attic to see what's up there. Thanks!

Gee, wonder who that would be?

Of course I have to get him used to the idea of cushions in a box first. He was a feral kitty that learned a lot about being an indoor kitty from my late kitty Lucy. He's still learning, but now on his own.
