Glad you got it figured out. Based on what you were describing I figured it was something with the bypass valves. If you have one valve in the normal position and one in bypass it works essentially like a shutoff valve with no water flow to the trailer. If the valve that is left in the bypass position is not fully seated you would still get a little flow out to the trailer.
