Okay update on my no water situation. Long talks w Reace & lots of troubleshooting. Here's the jist
Replaced pump by MYSELF! Even spliced wires! Never have done anything like that. Proud of myself but even new pump did same thing. Reece had me do some “sucking” on various tubes in case of air lock. Finally the solution was the tvalve w lots of plastic debris inside. Let’s just say I am now very intimate with “Pearl” & may have to rename her but I know this is a pg blog so won’t say. Anyway now have running water including hot. Could be helpful for new owners. Sent pics of plastic debris to Reace. Happy trails campers!

Glad I came across this post! Not real good at getting around this site. Anyway just had my toilet valve fixed because it was leaking. After that the pump would not move water. I'll try some of these suggestions when my water cools off!

I put my trailer up for sale and changed my mind!
Hope this gets to everyone!

Or they did, and traveling disturbed the debris and it plugged the pump.
I get irked by unsubstantiated statements and speculation.

So am a little perturbed about your comment. I tried a lot of troubleshooting as well as replacing pump. Took a lot of hours on a brand new trailer that should have worked flawlessly. Even Reace suggested he needs to talk w the team to insure that the tanks are flushed free off debris. This effort took well over 4+ hrs of my time so please refrain from such condescending comments.

You stated that ETI did not check the pump.
I gave you the reason why the pump may have worked when checked and didn't work later.
We don't know that ETI did not check it. They have a person who is assigned to Quality Control. We don't know.

BTW. It is a good idea for anybody going through orientation to actually operate all the systems, not just listen to a description of how they work.
You're much more likely to remember how things work if you operate them yourself.
I also recommend that you not distract yourself by taking pictures or video. There is a good video already on the Escape site.

Was it white plastic from the fresh tank or red or blue plastic from the water tubing? Or all three colors?

Just making an assumption here but when the holes get drilled into the tank for the probes there may be plastic shavings which can get stirred up and then sucked into the water lines at a later date.

Great job replacing the pump. I assume this is the winterizing T-valve you reference. Makes sense as it is upstream of the pump filter and very susceptible to debris.

It was white plastic debris. Sent pic to. Reace.

Yup. The fresh water tank is white plastic. Likely shavings from when fittings are cut into the tank by the manufacturer.

Hopeful this will help new owners with a difficult situation. I was unable to stay in the area for a shakedown. Glad it's working now. So here is the rundown for problems encountered:
Asked for no kitchen fan & instead ordered kitchen window per recommendation from some on forem. Got kitchen fan offered new build, chose not to, 2 windows not closing completely. Awaiting wait will happen with those. I'm not a complainer but there are lots of build issues I am incountering. Just informing y'all

Well, if nothing else, you've got a spare water pump.

A plugged or improperly set winterization valve or a plugged suction line makes sense .
How else could you pull the pump screen with a full tank of water and not have water running all over the floor.

Steve: with the tank below the floor (and pump) and no water in the lines the pump screen could be pulled with a full tank without issue. Not so on our old Scamp with the indoor tank with water level above the pump.

Thank you , I made a poor and wrong assumption .
Am I to understand that the water pump is exposed or buried in spray foam on the undersidea of the trailer .I thought that the pump in an Escape 21 was under the bed
How does the suction side of the pump stay flooded if the tank is not above the pump ? Does the pump create a vacuum and draw the water from the tank like a shallow well pump ?.
If it pulls the water from the tank do you need to manually prime the pump ? Is there a check valve on the suction side of the pump to maintain prime.
Something about this system as described is just not making sense to ME .
Scamp and Casita use gravity to prime the pump cause gravity is 100% positive

Just curious , nothing more ?

.

Glen mentioned ETI's Quality Control person. I was pleased when I learned of this addition to their staff last year I believe. We met him as we were having a broken awning latch replaced (after only 1 year's use) and he went through our Escape checking for other issues that had been reported by owners. Based on what I have experienced with ETI, I know they will try their best to address the plumbing and window issues Mucram experienced. Many issues are due to quality control issues with suppliers.

This thread does highlight the benefit of being able to hang around an extra day or 2 when picking up your Escape from ETI.
