how loud is your inverter
Hello all,
I finally got around to checking the inverter performance with the microwave, and quite frankly, I am surprised and disappointed at the racket it makes when powering the microwave, or presumably any other substantial load. This is not just fan noise, it is more like a rattle. It can be heard plainly outside the trailer, and resonates inside due to the hard mount of the inverter on the settee side.
Tolerable perhaps during brief microwave use, but if that is the norm when we are using/charging the laptop, I am going to be less than amused.
Any thoughts?

Our inverter is relatively quiet Allan, even with substantial output around 1000 watts. I'd call Samlex and ask them about it. Their customer service is pretty good.

To further illustrate the issue, I tried to attach a video. Too large, so I will have to do it later.
The inverter is not, unfortunately, a Samlex, it is the GoPower GPISW 1500-12.

I see, different brand. I've no experience with them regarding customer service, but maybe give them a call.

Your the first I've heard that has/had an issue. I'd do as suggested and call GoPower or even ETI tomorrow.

Did Escape change inverter models? The inverter on my trailer is a Go Power GP-HS1500 - quiet and works fine.

Apparently they did. I will call ETI tomorrow to see what they have to say. I have a tough time believing that this racket is normal.

charging a modern laptop will likely use 40-50 watts. your inverter will barely draw more battery power than it does turned on with no load.

The GoPower GP-HS1500 Inverter has been out of production by GoPower for over 2 years. I suspect that Escape (or their supplier) ran out of of them and switched to the newer GPISW 1500-12. I discovered this when I tried to purchase a GP-SWR-B-12 remote (a remote with digital readouts). The remote is no longer available, and the replacement that works with the newer inverters does not function with the older HS-1500.
On the other hand, my HS-1500 inverter is quiet (other than the fan) when running the microwave.
