How strong is the 5.0 roof?

Does anyone have any experience with, or an opinion about, crawling around on the roof of a 5.0? I'm thinking about the process of waxing the trailer and figured it might be easiest if I got on top to do the Mr. Miyagi wax-on, wax-off. I should add I weigh about 180 lb.

TIA;
Dave

Well, it's held me and I weigh more than that ..... not saying how much more : - ) Not seen any damage so far.

Rats...I was really hoping you'd say it required someone under 120 lb...then I could convince Deb I'd do it, except it might hurt the trailer...

Hi: Garand...Dave I'm at a loss for weight. This no sugar, no salt, no fat lifestyle has got me losing big time. I still won't get on top of "Our Escape Hatch" tho. I can just reach the 1/2 width from a 7' ladder. Trouble is thats 6' to high for ME!!! Alf

It is quite a ways up there. The time I was up there, I was VERY careful!

Hmmm, let's see. Smooth gel-coated fibreglass + cloth pants (probably wet...both from washing the trailer and being up that high) + 9 feet height + pushing and pulling a wax-buffing cloth = recipe for a broken leg. Definitely gonna see if I can talk Deb into it. I can catch her, she can't catch me.

If you must get up on the roof.....use a piece of plywood with something under it to protect the getcoat. This will spread your 'svelt' 180 lbs. It would be very easy to have your knee put some stress cracks in the gelcoat.

Ahhhhhh, good idea Reace! Even more important if you are NOT so "svelt"!
