The issue with moth balls might be the residual odor. I suppose it depends on brand and the quantity of naphtha. We have used dryer sheets the past two years and one product left quite a odor for at least part of the summer.

I probably wasn't clear. I put moth balls around the floor of the storage unit, not the Escape itself. Hopefully that smell won't permeate the Escape. I can only imagine the smell of new fiberglass combined with naphtha!
