Reta, part of the reason this thread has alot of conversations about folding kayaks is that they're compact. No way to store a regular kayak in the trailer. Some folks however use a rack or similar and haul one or two canoes or kayaks on top of the tow vehicle. Of course, it has to be substantial enough to allow for that.
