Installing new gas detector
This looks like the one I have which is due to be replaced and has beeped some odd alerts.
Is replacing it pretty simple? (I haven't looked since I'm set up with a permanent bed.)

Pull it out, cut the two wires noting polarity, connect the two wires to new detector, reinstall. Probably the easiest device on your trailer to replace.

I do not have an Escape , I own a Casita
I changed mine out yesterday . It took about 15 minutes to drill out the two pop rivets , disconnect the two wires to the old detector , wire the new detector and install 2 new pop rivets . The MTI detectors has a five year life span so at the end of the 5 years the green and red led’s on the detector will flash and the beeper will sound every 30 seconds .
The hardest part of the job was getting myself up off the floor !

That's what it says. Not what mine is doing. Green light is on, red is off, when it beeps it beeps continuously (though appears only when there could be low levels or propane and turning on the fan or off the heater stops it). So not sure if they changed or mine is just weird. I don't have a pop rivet gun but will check with my neighbor. I know how to drill them out, anyway.
