Is there an easy fix for cracked "EGGS"

Hi: All...Look what I found while waxing "Our Escape Hatch". It's a cracked "EGG" . So far I have made sure it's well coated with wax. Is there a more permanent solution that's easy to do Alf

Those look like hairline cracks in the gel coat. If that is the case, they do no harm. You can buy kits to repair gel coat, or have it professionally repaired, but my 10 year old Casita had them in several places...they got no worse.

Hi: Garand...Dave I remember while camping during the year, picking up a tree limb behind the trailer and thinking, glad this didn't fall on the trailer. Now I think it did, but bounced off. The area of cracks is on the edge of the noggin dome above the dinette at the rear of the trailer. Alf

Alf, if you're really concerned, give Reace a call, or talk to a local boat shop. Its probably okay, but its nice to get an expert opinion.

Re: Is there an easy fix for cracked "EGGS"

Alf, they look just like the gel coat cracks in our kevlar canoe. We bought it used and it needed some gunwale repair, so I took it into the Wenonah factory which is near us. They said that the gel coat cracks were not anything that structurally effected the canoe, so they are still there.

Capt. Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure, but only if you're absolutely positive it's needed:

Re: Is there an easy fix for cracked "EGGS"

Hi: HokieEscape...Dan, it seams like it!!! The only problem I had waxing day after day was to "Get Cracking". Sad to say it's done now and put away for winter storage. At least I don't have to drive past her on my way to work.

I know a plumber that could make use of a product like that.

Re: Is there an easy fix for cracked "EGGS"

Hi: Donna D...Thanks for the link. I guess I'd have to be really carefull getting it into the cracks on a vertical surface...but it's worth a try. I'll probably order some for spring delivery!!! Alf
