Kudos + natural surfaces on tables/counters/floor?

Tonight, special thanks to the Escape Cheesehead contingent ... Paul and Gerda generously answered many many questions and showed off their beautiful Escapes this afternoon, as I ran our (infamous) Subaru and (equally infamous) pups up to Wisconsin for a face-to-face encounter. Meanwhile husband Dan spent time with Sandra and her 17B outside Sacramento. It's been quite a day.

Seeing an Actual Escape was a little like meeting a rock star ... after so many pictures and so much talk, the Real Thing! And real nice people to boot. Thanks to all of you.

I'm letting all the info settle, but I do have one question to throw out as I drift off tonight ... has anyone done a wooden tabletop/countertop? Sealed, of course. While I liked the laminates I saw in Gerda and Paul's Escapes, I always prefer a natural surface. I'm not sure if this would add too much weight (wouldn't seem like it, but ??). Also curious about the floor ... anyone done like a superlight bamboo? I dunno if that'd hold up, really, but it'd look purty!

Elizabeth

Elizabeth

I think the table top and bamboo floors are both available at Wal-Mart. I thought I saw them in housewares. Jokes aside it is always enjoyable to hear the plans for the use of an Escape. You have a vision of what you want it to do for you, that is neat to have a goal in researching and possibily buying.

I enjoyed sharing the Escape 19 with you and know you have loads of information to process. The decision will be the correct one I am sure.

Paul

Paul, thankfully there's a WalMart at every single exit on my way home, so I'll have plenty of chances to pick out all the trimmings.

It certainly was my pleasure to show off the "Suite Escape" to a very nice gentleman! It was also fun chatting with Elizabeth and learning about the delightful experience that Gerda supplied to her. Hopefully, an Escape will be in their not too distant future.

With a great product in the Escape, great people to deal with in Tammy and Reace, as well as all the wonderful and helpful people around here, how could they go anywhere else?

Elizabeth, it was wonderful meeting you and talking camping! I wish we could have spend more time actually, near a camp fire for instance... Did you find a relative yet in need/desire of owning a 89 Honda...? :

Darn it, I'm part of that Cheeshead Contingent and still have not gotten to meet Gerda or Paul. We are clearly going to have have a get together someday soon. I am sure Elizabeth would be oh so glad to stop by a Walmart for those countertops... Seriously Elizabeth, I'd just ask Tammy if she has a source for those.

Perhaps if Dan and I go ahead with things, you can include us in as Honorary Cheeseheads

Here's a snap I took of Gerda, obviously happy about life in Cafe Egg. We're huddled down here discussing fun things like cars and budgets, etc, and will be back at you with more questions undoubtedly, probably next week.

Thanks again, all ... this is a truly amazing group of people.
