LED Bulbs

Getting ready to order LED Bulbs for 19 Escape. How many bulbs are there in the interior of an Escape 19? Are they T10 wedge base?

That's a change on 2016 model. I'm getting 2015 which isn't supposed to have LED's. Who knows, maybe Reace will be giving Christmas surprises out when we pick up.

You will have to get your own LED for the stove hood.
I think because the stove hood ships with a 194 bulb in it they leave it.
I replaced it with a t10 pancake type of led and now I can see when I'm cooking.

I'd certainly check with ETI. They had an LED option package at one time, but that screen grab is from "Features" on their site, and I recall a post recently about LEDs being made standard.

I have to call tomorrow on some paperwork, so will ask. That would be awesome if I don't have to add bulbs to my to do list.

The bulb count may differ from trailer to trailer. Mine were all wedge bases. Nine in total:

2 above the bed mounted to overhead cabinets
1 in the head
1 in the stove exhaust fan
1 on the side of the front overhead cabinet
1 above the sink
2 - one under each of the teleological front cabinets
1 for the porch light.

I bought a bundle of 10 flat boards with 48 LEDs each on ebay for about $13 with various adapters, including shipping. These may be a bluer brilliant white than some would like, but the price is right.

I used RTV silicone to stick them to the reflectors in the existing fixtures.

zb-auto in China was the vendor:

Some people have complained about their LEDs, saying they are too bright, and have covered or replaced them. Apparently, LEDs come in a big range. If you get two or three different ones, you might decide to have some less bright ones in certain areas. I have looked at Superbrightleds as some have suggested but I see only the mini for the stove and not the regular wedge ones.

It is a 2016 change as far as I know.

Hope you don't have to but, in any event, I wouldn't buy a bunch all at once.
We've been changing over since 2008, putting in warm white LEDs where we use lights the most ( for reading or playing cards ). I have a cool white over the kitchen counter, which seem brighter. We've rarely used the range hood light ( mostly while taking pictures of the interior ) so I've ignored that one.

I just had a look Cathy, and I think that the miniature wedge are the same. You could confirm with them. There are a couple options, like item 13 and 14 on this page that would do the trick great. Item 13 is definitely a bright one.
https://www.superbrightleds.com/cat/..._Wedge,1,3995:

The ones I bought a few years back worked great, but no longer seem available. The cost of LED's are dropping real fast. Replacements for pot lights in projects we do have seen the costs cut in half in less than a year. LED lighting at home too will be in the future for a while.

Thanks! Glad the cost is dropping lately because I know I spent plenty on just one but that was a while ago. I thought the stove light was different but guess it is not.

I took out the stove bulb today to compare and, yes, they are the same. Always thought it was a more mini version. That #14 looks interesting and may be good for anyone wanting less light for some of them. And, yes, these costs are much less than I paid a couple of years ago. Thanks again!

I added the led's as an option on my 21 that I picked up in March 2015. Per ETI soft white LEDs were not available at the time. Those LED fixtures were BRIGHT! Based on info on the forum I inserted parchment paper as a filter into all the fixtures and that has definitely improved the quality of the light to the point that I plan on no other mods to the lights. The light is not hot enough to even scorch the parchment paper so this is most probably a permanent fix for me since I don't think I'll own my beloved 21 more than 15 years! I did also change out the stove hood light to an LED. I'm very pleased with the stove hood LED as the light is brighter than the original. I do love my 21!

I picked my 21 up in march 15.I had ordered all LED in all fixtures.I guess they missed one.I had led installed in my 2011 15A.They were perfect, but very exspensive. They really saved on power ,when of the grid..

We ordered #14 but it does not fit. Also ordered #12. Does not fit even though they are 194.

Ordered #11 and it fit even though not 194. Gives very little light, only 5 lumens but wanted some of those for being up at night.

Still have to find a standard one that fits.

Is this for the stove hood?
A #12 fit ours , BUT, I had the spin the clip on the black socket that the wires come out of.
so that the socket was 'backed up' .

I was trying to get LEDs for the pancake lights, not the stove, however, the stove apparently takes the same kind of miniature wedge LED. Our lights are incandescent. So we are trying wedge LEDs to replace the incandescents. Want some warm and some cool.

I think the escape lights are led panels stuck to the back of the fixture and a wire goes to the socket.

Like this guy sells

jxoco, we do not have LEDs. Our originals are all incandescents.

Okay, now I think I have it. The 194's we bought will fit the stove. They will not fit any of the others. We only tried them in the others, not the stove. So have to go back and try them in the stove and I expect they will fit, however, don't need the four we bought!

And still need to find out what the pancake fixtures take to replace the wedge incandescents.

Our incandescents merely push into place so I expect that any LEDs for those spots will also push into place without any change to any wires? Who knows about that?
