I have had good luck with these over the past 6 years, very easy to install in the stock lights and leave on all the time or install a microswitch, I have done both. My bath and kitchen stay on 24/7/365 but they are minimal drain and it is all automatic. BTW, they also come in amber, green and blue

ugh, I'd much rather have a amber night light than a blue one.

Agreed, but blue LEDs are the fashion. Good luck fighting that. Amber is not the new black...

Myron, I have tried ordering wedge bulbs from Amazon and other places and have mostly been disappointed, but seven years ago I started ordering from superbrightleds.com who are not the cheapest place to buy, but every bulb and fixture I have bought from them has worked incredible. I changed all the wedge bulbs in my 19 to ones from them and was very happy. Here is a link to their wedge bulbs.

I have also ordered light fixtures from them for inside the Trillium 1300 I rebuilt and found them to be great too.

Interestingly I just read an article that says the LED's attract the least amount of insects versus incandescent and fluorescent bulbs. Warm white has the least amount of draw of any other light, including a candle.

That wasn't my experience. I switched to an amber lens and still got bugs, but the light was so dim I couldn't see the step, so I switched back.

I tried a couple, this had the right brightness level and was more of a deep amber and less of a bright yellow.
Thanks, ordered 3.

Has anyone had luck finding a LED bulb to replace the incandescent bulb in the hood? I have ordered two different T10 base LED bulbs from Amazon and both got very hot (akin to a halogen bulb).

thanks

ideally, you want regulated LED lights, these will say something like Voltage: 9-18 V DC and maybe even AC volts too. These run a constant brightness even if your charging systems are jiggling the voltages up and down, and they are much more efficient.

There's a lot of cheap junk out there.

I'm currently using these unregulated LEDs in my E21 classic's ceiling lights as they are warm white.

they have 8 strings of 3 LEDs each, and the one thats flipped over in that pic, I've chopped out 6 of the 8 resistors, so just 6 of the LEDs light for 1/4 brightness

since they are unregulated, they flicker some with the various levels of solar and/or WFCO converter power.

here's a full one, and a 50% one (4 resistors cut)
