LED lights and radio reception
We have all LED lights in our 17b, except for the one in the range hood. We also have a Jensen AWM 975 Stereo / DVD player that Escape installed for me. It is also able to be connected to the TV via an HDMI cable. The only problem I have with this setup is the radio reception. It works fine until we turn on some LED lights. As I understand it, when Reace installed the stereo, he ran the the antenna wire along the rear drivers side cabinets, which is also where our reading lights are. So if we turn those on, the radio reception degrades significantly. Also the LED light fixture over the sink and, as I found out last evening, the LED light fixture in the bathroom.
This isn't too surprising to me. On my bicycle, if I have an LED headlight mounted on my handlebars, the wireless cycle computer that is next to it will lose reception from the receiver, so I think that LED lights give off a lot of electromagnetic interference.
I have been thinking about installing an external radio antenna on our trailer, hoping that this would eliminate the LED interference. But this would require drilling a hole in the trailer, which is in direct conflict with Baglo's First Commandment. So before I do this, I thought I would ask if others have experienced this problem, and if so, what they have done to remedy the situation.
Thanks for any advice.
