LineEX

An item on the option sheet for our on-order '19 is "LineEX." That was a mystery to us, and Tammy explains that "LineEX is similar to a truck bed liner and is sprayed onto the front of the trailer in place of the rock guards. It will help to protect the trailer from rock chips."

It sounds as if it might be one of those things that, when re-sale time rolls around, one one might wish he or she had acquired. Does anyone have any experience with this product?

Re: LineEX

Hi Paul,

I have a similar type of material (Rhino) in the bed of my truck and it has lasted well, looks just like the day it was applied. In my experience towing my last 17' Boler, I used to get quite a few rock chips on the front of the trailer...it didn't look very nice after a while. I am getting the LineEx option for my 17B that is on order. Also, you might want to take a look at the new tongue box Reace is making...it will have the LineEx on the front of it as per my conversatin with Tammy a week or so ago.

Re: LineEX

nadia - After I posted, I learned about the LineEX on the upcoming exterior storage box. According to Tammy, the price of the storage box will be $450cdn, which is $50cdn less than the price of the LineEX option.

Re: LineEX

I have looked at the Line-X product for spraying on the front of my trailer, and plan to put it on some day. It is hard and tough, unlike other materials that are softer. Dirk (mosquitodirk) put in on his trailer. Link

Re: LineEX

I'm just going to get one of those rock-slingers to fire rocks at the rest of the trailer so it matches. I figure a hundred bucks to some construction worker at the end of his shift should do it.

Re: LineEX

You may be on to something there Glenn, people pay big bucks for the 'distressed' look on new furniture.

Re: LineEX

The combination of Line-X and mud (rock) flaps on the tow should make for a pristine trailer front.

Hi: All...Glenns process may be more entertaining than distressing. He could just sit in his "easy chair" and watch...beer in hand.
We have stick-on bullet holes on the truck...don't wanna know whats under them... but it is fun to watch people try to put a finger in 'em. Alf

Re: LineEX

I picked up my 19 on Aug the 5.
I had white line-x done to the front.
I am now thinking that I am going to do it myself to the wheelwells, as I do alot of Gravel road driving.
I just did Pemberton to Prince George and back on mostly gravel.
My other friend's travel trailer had rock chips on the siding on the front. (Stick built)
I had alot of dirt:-)
Reece and company are great.
They resolved two minnor issues rightaway.
A happy owner
George

Hi Donna: you're hilarious! (and Vicki too..) We had a 5.0 2008 and now have a 2013 and we've never applied a liner. The only issue we've ever had with the 5.0 is bugs on the tongue front. Bloody things.... literally!

We've been on gravel roads and nada. Mind you, I drive a speed to match the road.

Congrats on your new purchase! You'll love it - okay yours will be bigger and wider than ours, so there'll be more to love
