IBM, who invented the disk drive circa 1957, sold their not-at-all-small hard drive business to Hitachi in 2002, which became HGST. Hitachi later sold the 3.5" business to Toshiba, and the 2.5" business to WDC.

I meant "small" as in the size of the drive, not the size of the business.

There should be a method for OPs to control thread drift on this forum.

Just stand on one foot until it swings back.

Thread drift is a natural thing, in this forum or anywhere in real life, mostly happening once the original topic has been fully discussed. Helps us get to know one another better. As one who has met a few hundred members from this forum I must say there is enjoyment to it.
BTW, your post I quoted would qualify as thread drift, but is not a bad thing.

I’ve had a lifetime of thread drifting. In school you had the class clown which as much fun as it could be, often led to a trip to the Principals office and he was not your pal. But if you could read the teacher, pick up on his interests and experiences, many times during a discussion period you could pull them off topic. And wow look where the time went, time to change classes. 50+ years out of school and I have no teachers to distract, they are all pretty much dead. So drifting threads, it’s what’s for dinner. Chicken, baked potato and broccoli, thanks for asking.
