Re: Lug nuts
Earlier today, I wanted to pop off the hubcap to check the lugnuts. Having not checked the forum beforehand, I hadn't seen this thread and how a screwdriver doesn't really work well. So, of course, I tried a variety of screwdriver sizes to no avail before it hit me what would be the perfect shape and size to work.... a standard L-shaped allen (hex) wrench. I don't remember what size I used but it worked like a charm. Put it in the little slot opening and use it like a lever to get it started and then worked my way around the hubcap until it popped off.
I also could've saved myself some time checking the forum instead of using sockets to figure out the lug nut size is 13/16". Fortunately that's the same size as my 4Runner's lug nut so it's lug wrench should work if needed to change a flat on the trailer. Plan to get a torque wrench for periodic tightening maintenance sometime this week.
