Mattress quality

We will be ordering the 5th wheel this week and wonder how the quality of the factory installed mattress is, or should we provide our own? Any help or direction appreciated.....thanks

I think the factory queen mattress is excellent.

Hi: Michael.Chadwick... We've had our 5.0TA for over 2 yrs. now and still find the ETI supplied queen mattress great. I think it's slightly shaped to fit into the nose of the trailer. The pillow top is a little longer than the bottom. I know that because I tried to turn it around but just put it back the way it was!!! Alf

I find it way too firm. It's a firm mattress laying on plywood. I've just purchased a slatted mattress support from IKEA. I'll be trying that in the trailer and if it doesn't soften up the bed I'll replace the mattress with another softer one I have.

It's an individual thing, if you like really firm you'll be as happy as a clam at high tide.

I have been using a sleep number since 2006. It works very well, but the I need to adjust the number every time there is a change in altitude or temperature.

A slatted mattress support? Who does that? The thing you have to remember about Ron is he's always been a hard-ass.

We decided to try the standard mattress before ordering a custom one.... We haven't felt the need to replace it yet (3 seasons).

Memory foam topper

We put a memory foam topper on the 2014 Escape mattress and love it.
