I finished the microwave install on my 21'. Running the 950 watt microwave on high (popping popcorn), I measured the temperature along the sides, bottom and top of the microwave using a laser thermometer. Only one spot on the bottom reached 160 deg with the rest running around 80 deg. No problem there. Oh, air was flowing in from the bottom gap and flowing out the top gap as expected. Below is a picture of the installed microwave.

When traveling I wedge a piece of styrofoam packing in the space above my microwave in order to hold it in place. I remove it when I'm camped. However, there are plastic clips available for this purpose, to secure a microwave in a cabinet in an RV. Unfortunately I don't remember where I saw them.

inverters

ETI puts in a go pro 1500 pure sign inverter . Do we really need a pure sign to run the microwave 700 watt ? my wife will use it for a hair dryer and maybe to run a tv ?

Tom, what did you use to secure the microwave in the cabinet?

I used two sections of aluminum angle screwed to the bottom sides of the microwave and industrial 10# Velcro on the angle pieces to attach it to the bottom of microwave cabinet.

I could of drilled holes through the cabinet but didn't feel it was necessary as I have had good success with the Velcro in the past.
