New style faucet

Escape is offering a choice of the new style "J" faucet standard in the Maple or the older style "P" faucet present in the oak interior. It is hard to tell from the pictures, but can anyone post the height of the "J" faucet to get an idea of it's size and does it work well inside the Escape. Thanks for any help....

Has anyone had both and have a preference? Jim, you may have to bite the bullet and try something new and fill the rest of us in!

The only thing that would lead me to the top as preference is if it swivels all the way left or right. the one i have, lower, doesn't. (it swivels but not 180) not a huge deal, but sometimes i'd like it to be out of the way.

I fiddled with the new style faucet while visiting the showroom in December, and liked it a lot. I don’t recall how far it swivels, but loved how it didn’t block the sink as much as the older faucet. I liked it so much that I inquired if it would be available as a retrofit or for customer self install on older rigs. They said they anticipated having them in stock around now (March) and they should cost ~$100CAN.

I don't see the point of having a kitchen faucet with a removable snake-out bulky nozzle for washing dishes in a sink that small. Brushed nickel is nice, though.

It’s useful for some things, eg things that don’t entirely fit in the sink, eg a cutting board etc. Also useful if you need to direct the spray in a particular direction that you can’t otherwise achieve. I’m our dishwasher, both at home and on the road, and I use the pull out sprayer regularly in both situations.

Your point is moot though, as both current faucet options from Escape are pull out sprayer types. It wouldn’t surprise me if they discontinue using the old style altogether though, not just with the maple interior.

I just tried calling Escape and they are not open today, the recording says mon-friday hours only. The website indicates saturday hours 10-2, April-November? I did not think T&R were Irish?

It's not April 6th yet, so no Saturday hours.... right?

Dang dangit, I have been so focused on packing and getting all of my ducks lined up that common sense is no more and neither is time, I have been without an Escape for almost a year and it has really impacted my whole being. I need a cure soon.....

We had troubles with the old style "P" faucet. One day while travelling through the state of Maine, we forgot to turn off the water pump. The roads we traveled were under construction and quite rough. When we stopped for our evening meal, the trailer was flooded!
The sink was roughly half full of water and there must have been 10 gallons of water splashed onto the floor. There were no leaks in the plumbing because the cabinets under the sink were completely dry! Finally we discovered that every bump in the road was enough to depress the button on the faucet. Every bump caused a short spurt of water to be released. The rugs on the floor of our 21 were wet from the refrigerator all the way to the front of the trailer. It took about two days to dry everything.
We now have the "J" style faucet without the fancy pull out hose!

Does the new J faucet have a positive water shutoff ?
It would be nice to arrive at our destination and not have to mop up water from the sink cover ,countertop and off the lower cabinet doors .

Try turning off the pump, then run the water (both hot & cold) until it stops. This seems to keep the faucet from dripping...

That makes sense! No pressure on the water lines - no drips.
