Re: Newbie questions

We have a non-hybrid Highlander V6.

Some Toyota alternatives to the Highlander to consider:
1. according to our dealer the 2013 RAV4 may have a lift hatch instead of a side swinging one
2. the Venza has a lift hatch, although no roof rack

Re: Newbie questions

You may have an issue with the Highlander opening hatch with something on the roof.

We carry a 12.5' kayak on our Highlander, and if we move it as far forward as possible, we can open our rear hatch.

Re: Newbie questions

We have (had) a 17' plan C. It just had a toilet in the bathroom. We then had the shower added, so now i guess it's a B!. We also have factory installed roof racks on it (we bought it used). We've never used them, but i think they were for kayaks originally. They have come in handy for tying tarps to. I have a Southfork also & have it on the roof of my FJ. That way, as Glenn said, i can easily add more air, or deflate as required when i'm traveling in the interior & going up & down in elevation (most important!)

Re: Newbie questions

Putting a wheel on the primary jack would do that.

I had that jack kicking around the house from something else, so i used it. We do use the wheel for fine-tuning where it gets parked. If i was better at backing up, it wouldn't be necessary!!
