Thanks Cathy! I checked the GFCI again and I had indeed not reset it correctly. When I did it again using a pen I was able to get power out of the inverter but nowhere else. After resetting the main breaker behind the 12V distribution center I could get power to the all-important microwave, and after resetting the outside GFCI I could get power to the outlet on the kitchen cabinets. So all is good and I can microwave something for dinner tonight. Thanks again!
I think I must have had bad shore power at my last stop. I need to invest in a power filter of some kind. And become a better cook.
