I have a Honda 2000. I will not be using micro wave or air so i might be fine without it.

As long as the "special" plug is somewhere in the pathway from generator to your converter, it should work find. There's a slider switch on the Progressive Industries display panel to defeat the "computer" part, but I wouldn't recommend that. Get the special plug if you can. I have a Honda 2000 also, great little unit.

Charlie, who cares why anyone would want to "pack a plug"? It's another gadget for our campers! And we all need more gadgets! As one who sells all kinds of gadgets to travel trailer owners, I thought you, of all people, would be on the "buy, buy, buy" side of this generator ground plug gadget issue.

No. The EMS is not needed to charge batteries.

Tiny switch on the front of the EMS Remote display.

You can rig your own plug or buy one from them.

You plug it into the unused receptacle on the generator.

Again, the purpose of the gen plug is to be able to use the EMS with the generator. Without it, the EMS senses an open ground and will not allow power to be supplied to the trailer. Or, you can just run the generator without the EMS. Your choice.

Here is the link to Amazon that I used to purchase one a year back. The Amazon link says, "Currently Unavailable", but I imagine they are still out there somewhere.

Or like others have suggested, make your own. What you're trying to do is trick your camper into thinking that it's connected to a 120V AC source incorporating a functional 3rd wire ground when it's not (or at least that's my take).

Just don't understand the concern that would drive one to pack a plug.
Progressive Industries said it was fine to bypass their surge for generator use . The surge is important for hooking up to campground pedestals . Pat
