Yes, this is what we do. Others have different opinions about a live flame while driving ... waiting for the day i produce enough solar while driving to go full batter

Thanks - that makes sense, but the retaining loop of of the plug shouldn't be caught up in the valve handle or quick-connect collar. There are various styles, but the one in the photo (for instance) is supposed to be on the far side of the valve from the connector, completely out of the way. It might just be installed in wrong place; it's probably worth checking.
