Noise from toilet
Hi Folks: We developed a noise coming from our toilet when we both fill and also flush it. It's a groaning / growling noise. At first I thought it was my stomach , but no I just had breakfast !! That is what it sounds like. This occurs a few seconds after filling the toilet and releasing the lever. It appears as if a little more water is coming out along with the sound. This also happens when doing a complete flush. Thanks in advance for any feedback you may have.
Jerry

Re: Noise from toilet
Jerry - ours makes that growl all the time when adding or flushing.

Re: Noise from toilet
I usually blame that noise ( : ) on one of the dogs.

Ours isn't. It is a distinct growl different than the water pump's rumble.

Re: Noise from toilet
Thanks for the replies. Our noise is also not associated with the water pump and has occurred when using city water hook up.

Re: Noise from toilet
Are you using a pressure reduction valve on the city water inlet?

Re: Noise from toilet
Ours makes the growl when not on city water or on it. The growl comes from the toilet itself.

Re: Noise from toilet
If its any consolation Jerry, most of them growl. Not sure why....could be air escaping during the flush....or its just saying 'thanks'

Re: Noise from toilet
Reace - no worries , seems like our toilet now " goes with the flow " ... Talk about lousy puns.
Thanks for the info.

poopy, definitely poopy...and don't think I didn't almost go a bit more scatological.

Re: Noise from toilet
Our toilet makes the growl noise as the flush valve is closing. It makes me grin every time I hear it. As I've been the one trying all the systems, Deb hasn't heard it yet...but I'm betting she laughs when she does.

I love Reace's comment about the toilet saying "Thanks!"
