Noisy Fridge Ventilator Fan

Last couple of days the fridge ventilator fan has gotten progressively noisier.. it's to the point of annoying now...
Is this due to the rain or is this normal for 2 week usage since new.
It's been running on AC with setting 3 coldness in same location for a week now.

How hot is it outside, you can turn it off if not needed.

70Fs today? So we don't have to keep it on when cooler temperatures?

The fan helps the fridge performance when it's hot out. Remember, these fridges aren't really designed to cool well once the outside temperature reaches the upper 80s to lower 90s. If the outside temps are a pleasant mid 70s, the fridge should cool well without the fan.

We have a 2016 new version of 21 .How does one tell if they have the Texas fan option installed .I've looked I can't see it .

Your fridge owners manual should have a drawing of the back of the fridge.

I added a manually switched fan to mine, and found it only helped when the outside temperature was over 90°F, or when the refrigerator side of the trailer was in direct, hot sunlight.

Here isa picture of mine, there is a switch marked on/off in the lower compartment.....look at the upper left hand corner in the picture....

Thanks. Jim I found mine it was right as I opened the vent screen .I turned it on .It should start turning on down here in SW Florida . It runs on 12 volt and fridge has to be on right ?

Correct and it will shut off when cooled down and restart when hotter.

I've been testing mine and the fan makes no difference on either AC or propane when the temp is about 70-75 (trailer is parked indoors.)

Yeah, I would expect that to be true. In the mid 70's, these SN or N rated fridges are right in their sweet spot, and the fan neither hurts nor helps.

Escape had my external fridge fan installed at the Dometic factory. Evidently Dometic didn't have any 4cu ft fridges without fans. Consequently mine doesn't have an on/off switch. Only the temperature sensor. How hard would it be to install an on/off switch?

Probably not that hard if you can locate the wires that run the fan. Just splice in a switch. But, if it requires pulling the fridge to get to them, alot more work.

Normally there is a thermocouple that sets the on/off temperature, it it attached to the burner tube. If you can trace it back to a junction and then by pass it, you can manually operate the fan
