Observations on new Escape 21

With recent discussions about the propane hose issues, rusting tanks and opening windows, I had very long thought about them on the trip out to Chilliwack. I took some pipe foam with me and had Escape cover the propane line. In addition I cut several pieces to wrap each window know on the awning windows. I even handed out some to the rally attendees. Glad to report no opening on the trip home. Finally I found that the factory was installing the propane tanks improperly, both mine and at least 4 other new owners had tanks that were not sitting flush on the platform, causing wobbliness as well as a scrapping. Removal and reinstalling them made the secure and tight. Hoping this will help other in checking their initial install.

Installing LP tanks is not rocket science. How does that happen, besides being careless or in too big a hurry?

Yes, how? Seems to me you'd really have to work at installing them wrong.

Yes, I agree, there seems to be a lot more people working there, a hive of of activity, yet mistakes are sometimes made. I think once the new management starts using their product, some of these mistakes will not happen. There is a void right now between the old and new that should lessen as time progresses.

Made some quick changes this am, converted my 30 amp power supply to 15 amp for power at home and a plug protector plus an additional 7 pin connector with a fused wire that allows use of trailer clearance lights at rest stops.

Jim,
Why not use a - 30A female to 15A male - adapter to hook-up to house power?
Thanks.

Because I have the attached power cord and did not want the 30 amp cord out with the exposure to pests via the cord, but I am using the mentioned 30amp female to 15 amp male, inside the compartment. This way the exterior is sealed unless I am using the 30 amp set up which maybe infrequent.

Here you go, and you will need a 30 amp female to 15 amp male adapter also...

Yes they do, but I had ordered the parts before pickup and was not aware of all the goodies Escape provides. Now they include a handy multi-bit screwdriver which I find very useful.

Yes, that mulit-bit screwdriver is indeed very useful! As far as other goodies, one I wasn't aware of is: if you order an outside shower they will also give you a nice blue coiled hose and nozzle to hook up to your outside shower. I almost bought a hose for the outside shower before pick up but glad I didn't. The one they provide works great.
