Question Opening Window

I've ordered a 21 foot Escape & will need to finalize the order sheet sometime before too long. My questions are: Does the 21 foot model need the opening window at the head of the bed? The floor plans have only one window by the bed. Will it get too hot or stuffy without cross ventilation by the bed? I'd appreciate feedback from anyone with the 21. We camp mostly without electric hook ups except when crossing the Mid-West in the summer when heading for Mountains. Other question is about the Maxx Fan. Does it have a rain shield when open? Any other feedback about the options in general would be appreciated. Our scheduled pickup date is early June. Hope to see some of you out there sometime.

You can order the front window as an option but I don't think you can get an opening front window on the 21. I could be wrong.

The 21 front window option is a smaller window, centered over the head of the bed. It's for light only - since it's a non-opening window with a rock guard.

we have a 21' 2017 with awning windows

camp 4 seasons - including hot summer desert.

dont have the window by bed

plenty of air coming thru. especially with Maxx Fan on at all... .even low.

didnt want light there at all. or any extra sound.

plus then you lose the shelf there.

YMMV

just my 2c.

By the way, here's a 21 with the front window. Notice it's smaller than the one on the 17 and 19, and it's also off center because of the bath location. Although this is a Classic 21, the location on the 2nd generation is the same.

and the front window is not thermal if you elect that option for the other windows on the unit. The fam has built in rain guard.

Don’t worry about ventilation without a front window, Chacojim. We have over 500 nights in 21s with no front windows, and stuffiness has never been a concern - not once. There are two opening windows at the side of the bed.

And we’ve never had an issue with rain bypassing the Maxxfan cover.

Thanks to all. Your information helps us to not do the opening window. The Maxx Fan up grade does not sound necessary either. We will be ordering the thermal windows, extra insulation & spray foam under trailer as well as other options.

Smart move on each of your choices. You are exactly right.
