Has anyone retrofitted these before? Was the fixture pattern close enough?

We ordered the same one on Escape Dave's recommendation. I see from recent photos of new trailers this appears to be the fixture they're using now for over the sink. That's the location of the one that failed on us where bulb could not be replaced. It's great now having choice of light just over sink or both on over sink and counter. Of course it did not fit the holes from the former fixture but I carefully made new and ensured I didn't use too long screws.

Changing the fixture
I have had to replace three of the original light fixtures in our 2017 5.0, and have found that the replacements sold by ETI are larger and have mounting holes that don't line up with the originals.
For what its worth, I found it easier to drill new holes in the fixture, and mount to the original holes in the ceiling, rather than drill into the ceiling.

Just a bad batch of lights??
Over the first three months that we had our 5.0TA each of the large overhead LED dome lights started to “strobe”. Looking on LED 12 volt light fixtures on line under “images” we found the same size, type and profile and bought a pack of six replacement fixtures which were delivered via Amazon to the RV park we were at. The holes were in exactly the same locations so I just replaced each failing light as they became problems. Overall the fix was about $12 a fixture and since we swapped them out we have had no issues and still have 2 spares to act as backups.

Has anyone replaced the LED units in the ceiling fixtures with something other than bright white LED's? Love our new 5.0TA, but all of the overhead lights are really bright, verging on blinding - we rarely use them at night. I know people have added additional colored LED lights in or under cabinets, but wondering if there are replacement plug-in LED's that fit these fixtures in some softer color than bright white? In the bathroom at night we especially hate to turn on the light in the middle of the night, it really blinds you and a red or amber LED would be much kinder on the eyes.

KED strip lights
For night you can get a nice color adjustable 20 ft LED strip light with a remote and mount it with small Command strip clips. The 20 ft runs from the door to the dinette and around to the driver side rear of the trailer. I think we paid about 30 dollars at Menards.

Since these fixtures have 2 bulbs and 3 way switches, why not replace one side with a red or amber bulb that is gentle on the eyes and leave the stock white for when you really need it.

Best solution for the bathroom at night is to get one of these battery powered motion detecting lights and mount it with either double sided tape or velcro. In our 21 I stuck it under the sink.

I’d want to know if I have the bright white or the other.
Check with Tom and Arlene in Auburn, WA. They have about the same era 21’, and you could measure. Or if you come to the Customer Rally you should have plenty of older ones to examine.
There’s a trick to getting a lens off without cracking it, but I can’t remember what it is—maybe squeezing it first?

I have used these, they come in primary colors https://smile.amazon.com/Haobase-50p...gateway&sr=8-3
and just attach them to the power source inside the light fixture, they stay on all the time and disappear when you turn on the light, perfect for bath and kitchen pancake lights. Minimal battery draw....

The lenses on the similar fixtures on my 2014, you slide them outwards about 1/4", away from the switch, then they just come off.
I tried the red gel thing (I camp at multinight astronomy star parties where bright light is very detrimental) and found eventually the LEDs cooked the red plastic, not good!
I am now using an low lumen amber LED with a compatible wedge base in the fixture closest to the door, on the 'low' side of the fixture. this has worked out great.... ah, I think its this one, https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...it-car/199/872
which is a 7 lumen wide angle amber in a 194 wedge base. I have an even dimmer red one I might use at the big star party where darkness is critical, but this amber one makes a great night light and my wife hates red light.

Yesterday "Amp Usage" would not go away and every time I clicked on it, it took me to the first post in another thread that I'd read already.

Rather than a generic red jel, get some of the real thing - Roscolux is made for theater lighting, and will hold up to being a couple of inches from a 1000 watt lamp.
Go to a theatrical or real photo supplier to purchase. If you go to a theatrical supplier, you may be able to talk them out of a free swatch book, which has all their 100+ colors. They also make frosts, which are great for softening harsh LED lighting.

I actually used Rubylith, which is a very deep red film used for photolithography and such. I put rubylith in front of the screen of my tablet when I use it for star charts, it doesn't pass /any/ blue light, just deep red.

I'm familiar with Rubylith; as a student (many years ago) my minor was graphics. It is not designed to be heat sensitive. There Roscolux webpage & swatch book gives the transmission percent & the spectral chart for each color. It is interesting to see what "hidden" wavelengths of light sneak through some of the colors.
