Plastic Table Track

Would like to build another table top to try out for the dinette but I do not want to remove the plastic slide track from the existing one as I may well go back to it. Has anyone looked for, and found, the track for sale anywhere? I can get it from ETI but figure it'd be easier if I found a US source.

Reace tells me it's a common RV item but I can't find it anywhere.

This is one of those items which is almost impossible to find without know what it's called or who makes it. Unless they can tell you the manufacturer and item name, I'd just get some from Escape.

When I get around to it, I'm going to mount these wooden shelf slides in place of the plastic. Much easier to find and less wobble than the plastic ones.

I built a new table. Needed something smaller. Did not use the factory sliders. My post number 374 in "A few Modifications to my 19" shows the drawer sliders I recently added.
They are called center mount drawer slides. Have ball bearings, cost me 9 bucks a pair. A little modification, added a stop block, and they work great.

Real nice solution! Thank you. I have tried to align the cheap plastic ones with little success.

These look good. Do you have a means to lock the table to keep it from moving when traveling?

No, haven't created a means to lock the table in place. So far that doesn't seem necessary or warranted even during travel. This sliding track is considerably more sturdy than the factory install and lateral movement isn't all that much.

Thanks for the reply. This looks like a good upgrade.

I put a strip of oak for the stock bolt to bite in to. The bolt doesn't damage the plywood and drop debri on the floor any more.

To keep the table from sliding when on the road, you can install an H509 3-1/2" Brass Bunk Latch from Amazon. Locks the table in place with installation instructions on another forum post.

Thanks Folks, got some leftover 22" center drawer slides. Only need 6 or 8" so they are kind of overkill, but I do already have them.

Myron,

I like your slide idea even better than the wooden ones. I'll add those center mount slides instead.

Thanks!

Tom got me thinking maybe when I'm on a really rough dirt road I should have done something about my table possibly shifting about.

Since you never know, and since D-rings have been on my mind lately, I did this today. Just for good measure I also screwed one on the opposite side.

Myron,
With your front leg stabilized by your modification your chances are minimized to just the one leg, but it doesn't hurt. I'm going to do the same.

True. If a 30 mile trek through the Valley of the Gods didn't dislodge my table I doubt that I have anything to worry about but.... you know it and I know it... sometimes when you want the D-ring you want the D-ring.
