Poor Refridgerator Performance Normal?

I'm trying to figure out if the fridge's poor performance in our 5.0A is normal, or if it's defective. Basically the only time it works is when it's on AC and then it takes about a day to go from 60F to 38F. Last night we rolled into MOAB and it was 60F. After 8 hours on AC, its at 50F. When driving, neither gas nor DC seems to do anything while driving. Even if starting out at the lowest setting - just above freezing, the temp creeps up to the 50s-60F in 6 hours or so. Note the ambient temp outside has been in the 50s to 60s. Really tired of throwing out food.

Are you overstuffing the refrigerator? Remember, absorption refrigerators work best when there's air space around everything in the refrigerator. Too, an inside refrigerator fan works to push cold air around. I often see RV refrigerators that contain items that don't need to be refrigerated! Left-overs, protein, dairy and medicine requirements, do. Fresh fruits and vegetables don't need to be kept cold, just cool.

Joe, you have the DM2663 model, like we have in our 2017. This does not sound normal.

We normally have the setting on 3 and the fridge is nice and cold. Propane while in the road and AC when connected to shore power. Time to check it out.

If you have DM2663 and is not overstuffing the fridge this does not sound normal.. when I plugged ours in before a trip (at setting 4) it goes from 60s to low 30s in about 4 hours (empty).

That doesn't sound right at all. The fridge in our 2018 19' gets cold and stays cold on A/C, D/C, and propane. And cools down within a couple of hours. I would definitely get it checked out. Ours is the standard fridge, not the larger one. One thing I've always done is add trays of ice already frozen and a frozen water bottle to the freezer before starting out, both to help things stay cold and as an indicator if something is amiss with the freezer.
