My opinion is that the backsplash will knock that out after about two turns.

Perhaps yes.
Previous discussion:
Hepvo valves: who has installed these on their Escapes
Although many Escape owners are familiar with these from other trailers, I don't know if many have installed one in an Escape, especially in the shower drain. There have come up in other discussions, but I don't recall any actual installations.
Manufacturer's site: HepvO Waterless Valve

In our area the plumbing code only allows there use in very limited applications . They were allowed for a period of time but from what I was told , for every problem they solved another was created
If the Hepvo valve is accessible it may not be an issue but if concealed in a finished wall it may be a different story.
Venting to the atmosphere is the simplest and most fool proof method IMHO

This would all make sense to me if we were talking about an air admittance valve (a.k.a. "cheater vent")... but the issue of backing up into the shower isn't about venting at all.
A HepvO replaces the trap. While the manufacturer says that it also eliminates the need for an air admittance vent, I don't know how effectively is does that... and the Escape shower has a vent anyway which isn't the problem.
I agree that it would need to remain accessible. It is a mechanical device which will need replacement at some point.

I agree with your post , The HEPVO valve is listed as a replacement for a P trap and also as allowing air admittance. The issue I was referring too was using the HEPVO without standard venting.
I worked on a project changing a 19th century 6 story warehouse into living quarters. To save money / time they used hepvo valves and air admittance vent valves. It worked for a while but there were issues over time.. One of the advantages of standard venting is that it requires little or no maintenance and has no moving parts.

Here are pictures of the drain and plug. It is obvious that the drain is missing the central part that the plug screws into, so we will send these pics to ETI. Probably a trip to ETI get this resolved.

Not at our 21 now, and it's parked out if range, but it may be you simply have the wrong basket. Our drain looks same as yours; the center hole is threaded and our basket has a center threaded pin if I remember correctly.

It looks like the center piece you need to screw on is missing or broken . I will go look at ours . There was a previous picture showing what you don't have . Pat

Just went and looked at ours . We have the same basket and you have the top broken off . Don't feel bad the piping under our sink has a crack running the length of plumbing . It hasn't given any problems so I just have left it . It does irritant me when I see it though . You need yours fixed though . Pat
