Problem shower plug in 2016 21'

The plug in our shower in our 2016 Escape 21' will not keep the gray water from leaking up into the shower. Uck! There are threads in the plug but not in the shower drain itself. Reace didn't have time to check it at the rally, so I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem. We discussed this with him on the phone prior to the rally and he said it sounded like we would have to bring the trailer to ETI to be fixed. Anyone have this problem?

Do you have the sink plug and the shower one mixed up ?
It should only turn a half a turn and lock down .

No, we don't have them mixed up. There seems to be a missing piece in the shower drain that the plug screws onto.

So what's the deal with the shower plug? I don't have a trailer yet and know nothing about it. Isn't there a trap between the shower and the grey tank? Why is the plug needed?

Is it backing up into the shower because the tank is full or it slops into the shower pan while under tow? The shower plug in Ten Forward isn't threaded. It's more like a kitchen sink plug. Twist to seal.

Hi: stephan99... Due to the nature of the trailer the traps are usually shallow to prevent contact with road debris. While under tow they can empty themselves by sloshing about. We keep our plug screwed in to prevent back wash. This would be impossible if the floor drain has no threads. Alf

Hi Steph, If you don't happen to empty your gray tank before travel, the gray water will slosh around and some will come up onto the bathroom floor. The plug prevents this.

For former Casita owners who had the HEPVO valve, would that same device work for an Escape to do away with the plug? Anyone know if that is feasible?

Ours is threaded . We were told to close it before travel when we picked up our trailer . Pat

We always try and keep the gray water tank empty, however, on occasion, when we don't have access to dump, and having pressed down and turned the plug hasn't helped, the wonderful gray water comes up into the shower pan. As I said, the plug has threads, but the drain does not. A great reason to keep the tank as empty as possible.

Hi: All... While on vacation in Fla. we were busy making bloody caesar's. We cleaned the celery stirs and put all the debris down the garberator... like good bartenders should. After dinner on opening the dishwasher we found all the celery debris floating in it!!! Oops. Alf

Ours screws in too, it's the center part that has the threads.

I believe ETI will not install the Hepvo valve, so if you want to later, just do not have the foam spray installed.

The installation of a Hepvo valve may be a code issue.
In our area the plumbing code only allows there use in very limited applications . They were allowed for a period of time but from what I was told , for every problem they solved another was created
If the Hepvo valve is accessible it may not be an issue but if concealed in a finished wall it may be a different story.
Venting to the atmosphere is the simplest and most fool proof method IMHO

Why not just stuff a wet paper towel or sponge in the drain prior to towing?
