With the 10' or 12' hose connected I have to turn everything on then wait maybe 20 seconds for the gas to navigate the hose. Just something to check on if all else is good.

I have the passenger side tank and the Blackstone stove valve turned on. Can’t find another valve on the ETI quick-connect.

Maybe I haven’t waited long enough.

Hope this helps, also as Bob mentioned it takes a bit of time for the gas to travel to the end of the hose.

Quick Conncts

Thanks Bob, but I already had the hose connected (to the quick-connects) like this. I’m looking for valves to turn. Can’t find any.

The Blackstone requires high pressure which is not what the quick connect provides...I have a Blackstone and carry a spare 20 lb tank and an adapter hose, work's perfect.

That makes sense, and it’s too bad. Too bad that another tank must be used. Too bad that ...
https://propanegear.com/converta-bp-...7-22-griddles/
...promises to supply a remedy with their 17” Blackstone-to-RV quick connect hose. Propane stank does not appear. Yet simply unscrewing the little canisters makes the air stink.

I thought that the Blackstone regulator I removed, was reducing gas in the high pressure canisters to low pressure, by regulated restriction.

There should, however, be a way to check flow. Nothing smells or hisses.

Propane Gear seems to be saying it will work with a regulated RV propane system. Doesn't that mean the low pressure side? Here is a quote from their website:

The Torjik CONVERTA•B+® kit allows you to convert your Blackstone® 17” or 22" portable propane griddle for use with your RV's regulated propane quick-connect supply port.

I'd be interested in doing this if it worked.

Jim the link Trent provided for the conversion kit from Propane Gear removes the high pressure regulator so the unit can run on low pressure.

Trent, the valve in your lower picture (trailer connector) looks to be closed, needs to be inline with the hose.

I betcha that’s it!

Funny thing; I thought it was a bracket. Gave it a little light turn, and it didn’t rotate, so didn’t want to break the bracket. I’m going to put some muscle to it, and see if it budges. Gotta work.

Now that you mention it, I hook up my hose to the Blackstone regulator where the green tanks screw on, so without the regulator it will not work?

I think you meant "off", not "on". These valve assemblies are normally designed so that the sleeve which releases the connection cannot be pushed back with the valve handle in the "on" position, ensuring that it is turned off before the hose is removed.

Great! So it works. I poked around on eBay and found the adapter that will fit the hose I already have for about $16.

As others have alluded to, you can easily do a low pressure connection. I have a friend with the Blackstone grill that removed the regulator and install a Blackstone low pressure adapter that has the male quick connect. It works great for him.

Yesssir.

The 2 larger RV propane tanks on the trailer are higher pressure, with a regulator between the two. I may be wrong, but I think that regulator between our RV tanks brings the pressure down to low pressure to supply our appliances. (Cook stove, water heater, refrigerator, etc).

The Blackstone also has a regulator, for the little canisters.

To hook up the Blackstone to RV low pressure quick connect, you take the BS regulator off, because ya don’t need two regulators in series (the RV reg+ the BS reg), which would be lower pressure yet.

The Blackstone cookstove is evidently the same pressure as our countertop cookstove. No extra regulator needed. Toss it into the spare parts box. Haha

Probably can be done lots cheaper, but I didn’t have patience to rummage through adapters. I went this route because my local, RV tech told me I couldn’t hookup my Blackstone without changing the offices, burners, and control assembly.

Glad for the Escape Forum to solve that problem.

Sorry, I had that backwards. the valve needs to be off before the hose end can be inserted. I should know better than to go by my memory.
It makes sense from a safety consideration.

As far as the quick connect goes, I converted because I can't lower the tailgate on my TV while the 21 is connected and I got tired of lifting the 20 Lb tank out of the truck to use.

Here is my quick connection. Need to remove the Weber regulator since this set up uses the on the tongue tank regulator.
