Raised carport

Reace told me the jack antenna raised the height to at least 10 feet. I measured when I got home and it is closer to 11.
My contractor raised the carport about 15 inches so there is plenty of room.
There are multiple 6 foot re bars anchoring it down.

Hi: captmath... Looks good enough that if you piped in water and 30 amp. power we'd come there to camp!!! Alf

I have got the 30 amp. You cannot see it from that angle. I am always wishing I had run a water line out there at the same time.

Here's mine. It has 30 amp. Water is within hose reach. Enclosed on 3 sides. And Alf, you are welcome anytime!

JEALOUS! My carport is 18'x25' and four inches too short for me to get Ten Forward home I can't find anyone willing to raise it for me. I think I've finally tracked down a fella about 100 miles away who's willing to look at it. Maybe by late fall, Ten Forward will be snug as a bug too.

Jeepers Donna, too bad I did not live closer. I would do it. I am pretty sure I saw a photo of it before, but is it a detached structure, or part of another building?

After having my 19 out in the elements all the time, I do want to cover the 5.0 TA, and I want it to be a structure, not a fabric cover. We are in the throws of house hunting as we "right size". One feature that is a must, is a place to park the trailer.

Dick, your raised carport looks great! Of course I did get to see it when it was lower with your classic 5.0 under it, the very first fiver we saw. Thanks once again for that chance over two years ago.

We have been considering how to cover our 5.0 for the winter when we won't be using it in 2016-17 winter going south. I guess it would be good to start with something higher just in case in the future we end up with a 5.0 TA.

When I built my shop I made the camper entry 14 ft tall as that is the most common clearance for overpasses on the freeway......

Adrian, maybe use extendible supports when you make it.

Admit it you're looking for a garage or shop with a house attached

Yeah I wish the P.O had made the big garage with taller doors so looking at putting a tall carport up as it will need to move if I need to get a lg truck in the backyard.

I told my wife if I ever design and build another house it will be a huge A frame. The ground level would be all garage and workshop space and we'd live in the loft. She was not amused.

You folks that can put up those covers, portable carports, are lucky. They're banned in this part of the world.

Well, it doesn't have to be attached, but that would be nice.

I have been spoiled by a huge attached garage. There are three main considerations for our new home, that either exist, or can be created within our budget, and that is a good entertaining kitchen/living area, a LARGE garage/shop, and a place to park the trailer.

I do look at a lot of places that have too small of a double detached garage for my liking, and it seems a shame to tear it down to rebuild what I want. I am allowed 75 square metres, 807 square feet of outbuilding. Plus many garages have only 8 ft walls, and I want at least 10.

Raised carport

While you're at it Jim, might as well install not only a covered area for the 5er, but 30 amp service and a sewer drain...

Edit: enclose and heat it, and you won't have to winterize.

That might make sense in Texas, but here it would mean months of expensive and wasteful heating for very little benefit... unless you take the trailer out for winter trips and can keep the plumbing warm enough during the trip.

I suppose I should be more obvious Brian when I'm trying to be sarcastic.
