Reading in bed (5.0)

Hi all,

We’re thinking about a 5.0, but have one big concern. The “inward” sloping rear wall seems like it would make reading in bed impossible, even with an extra pillow or two.

Any comments, on the topic, from owners?

Thanks in advance,
Ken

I read in bed every single night. It's habit for me, to relax and turn off the daytime 'stuff.' I think a lot of reading comfort in a 5.0 depends on several factors. What position do you expect? Like sitting in a chair, recliner or just a big pillow under your head. Too, I'm 5'6" (66"). The bed length is 80". That leaves me a bit more than 12" to scooch down, if I so choose to use more pillows. I've never found the slat of the nose to be a problem. YMMV

We read every night using 2 regular pillows each, the contour of the front has no effect on us. We're 6'2" and 5'3" if it matters..

I read every night in bed but I must admit I cheat a bit. I went to our local back store and got a wedge pillow system to support my back. 4 pillows: two back wedges, a small neck pillow and a support pillow for under my knees(optional). Extremely comfortable.

Hi: M3Kend... My wife uses her tablet at night and loves it. The reading lights in the 5.0TA are much better for her than the under cabinet ones in our 5.0. Alf

And looks like the step up to bed is a good place to dry your socks!

I like reading at our u shaped dinette and sometimes sitting on the steps with my back leaning on the closet door. My wife goes to sleep before I do so I do not read in bed.

Thanks to all. Sounds like we were worried about nothing.
