Refrigerator hose

I know there's a thread about the hose located in the outside refrigerator access panel, but I can't find it. Is the receptacle that holds the end the hose supposed to have water in it? Also, out of curiosity, has anyone had their 'Texas Fan burn out?

I believe all the Escape refer condensate hoses have that plastic end pice that holds water to keep warm air out and all are located inside the compartment and drain either thru the interior drain or into a cup.

FWIW, the only time I've heard my Texas fan run was when I bypassed the thermistor, never on it's own.

Thanks Jim. I couldn't remember all the details on the how and why of that hose.

Bob, ours has always run on its own whenever the outside temperature reaches about 80 or 85 degrees. Were were told that's how they're supposed tho operate. In fact, when we first heard it, I queried the forum and was reassured by members that it really would shut off on it's own.

Ahh, that's the trick, you camp when it's hot.
