Replacing defective LEDs
I hate to even ask this but my other choice is possibly breaking the lens.
I have the LEDs in my 21 and one is starting to flicker. I can't figure out how to get the clear fixture lens off to check the LED. I can get my finger nails under it but if I break it I will be p--sed, so I thought I would ask. Has anyone had to pull the clear lens cover off the light fixture to change a bulb or the LEDS.
While I am at it - any hints/suggestions or advise on the LEDS
Thanks
Bruce

Suggest you post a picture of the fixture to make sure that the person who offers advice is talking about the same one.
Fixtures have changed over the years.

On my 2014 5.0TA the cover slides just a bit then pulls down. Took me awhile to figure it out LOL!

Bruce, is it just one of the wee LED bulbs flashing, or the whole fixture. If the fixture I would suspect a bad connection, but that may be in the bulb array itself.

Your lens should push in and slide off, remove the bulb and clean the contacts with an eraser and reinstall, this is a common issue with the led bulbs. The newer models do not have bulbs but they have strips instead and it is a good thing they do not flicker as they do not seem to be removable, just replaceable.

Put something sticky on your fingers, maybe eat a jelly sandwich with lots of jelly, and grip the lens with as many fingers as possible. Slide it away from the switch. It needs to go about 1/2 an inch and it will drop out with some help.

Some of our covers would even fall off all of the time so I am wondering if you have the new kind.

A year ago, we had a flickering LED at a time when there was high humidity in our trailer. After returning home, just as I was going to get a new unit from ETI I decided to check on the light fixture and it was no longer flickering. Almost a year later it hasn't flickered at all. The only new thing we have done is to run the Maxi-Fan through the night to reduce humidity, even when boon docking.

Slide and drop down to remove per Paul, clean with a pink eraser per Jim.

Replacing defective LEDs
I thought I should add that the eraser thing did not help with our flickering LED. I think our problem was condensation in the fixture.

Hi: All... I really do have a defective LED. Not the LED card or dirty contacts... but the fixture switch. Half of it still works ok but if I install the other half it stays on dim with the switch off. Nice night light but it's the isle light fixture over the bed and I haven't been able to sleep with the light on since I was a kid. Alf

Replacing defective LEDs
That is exactly how our LED fixture behaved, with half of it glowing dimly when shut off. Seeing it was the only fixture that did this, it may at some point in the future give us trouble in spite of the Maxxfan solution. Yes, replace your fixture.

Alf, do you think it could be some moisture in the switch? I had an LED light that wouldn't turn off -- just a very dim glow when turned off. It was while we were doing some camping in the winter. After a bit, it dried out and we haven't had the problem since then. Maybe take a hair dryer to it and make sure it is good and dry.
Just a thought

Hi: LeonW... You have to have hair... to need a hair dryer Eh?
Oh wait... I do carry a hair dryer... Use it to defrost the RML8555 freezer. My photographic memory is still good except my film card is full!!! Alf

If I wanted to get a spare fixture who in the states would carry it, I wonder?

They are made by Sunlink Lighting, "Star" series, however the website link is no longer valid since last month?
model #PCLS01N-008

Apparently these might come from LaSalle Bristol, but the only information about their 12V lighting line is an online catalog for obsolete or surplus stock... and that model number doesn't appear in this catalog. Maybe this is just another source of units like the Sunlink product - perhaps out of the same factory in China.

Hi: LeonW... Finally got a round toit!!! Used the blow dryer and also filed the contacts with a coarse nail file. That seems to have done the trick... for now!!! Alf
