Riddle me this.....

Turned the Americana refrigerator on, I have the stock Escape 19, 2nd G refer. It is 88 outside. My freezer, after 4 hours is sitting at 11, my refrigerator is 67?? I have frost forming on the freezer back and no cooling below in the refrigerator? Does it take that long to dissipate the cold below? I am not sure what is happening? I am sitting still in my backyard on 120v as source. Any ideas or just keep checking? Thanks for any insight.

Not the same fridge, but mine takes way longer to cool than 4 hours Jim. The freezer cools quickly because not only is it designed to be colder, but it's way less volume. I'd give it alot longer, and check it after maybe 18-24 hours. Shorter, if you place cold items inside instead of checking it empty.

My experience is similar to Robert's with all the fridges in all trailers. I usually fire it up the afternoon before I need it and leave it overnight. Freezer cools down way before fridge.

Lots of frozen stuff in it really helps speed up the process

THIS has always been my plan. Half-gallon frozen water bottle in the refrigerator, next to my Double D cube fan Also one (sans fan) in the freezer.

It seems to cut "down to temperature" by about half.

I give it overnight and in all honesty, I couldn't tell you what model I have. This spring with the outside temperatures in the low 70's, the fridge part was at 32 degrees F on the highest setting. Loren

Jim

We have the same fridge and our freezer gets down to around 5-10 before the fridge really starts dropping. The fridge drops faster after the freezer gets cold. It takes about 6-8 hours to stabilize out.

Last time out, ours took 4 1/2 hours at about 90F. Usually cools in 3 when cooler weather. I can use the clock to know when I will be able to put items from the cooler in there. We have the RMD double door 6.7.
