RM2354 Fridge door

Traveling in Southern California and my door has broke off at the top hinge. The local Rv dealer says that it is obsolete! Does anyone have door or a fix for this? I am selling my 17b in March and would like to have it fixed for a new owner.

I am not sure but Little House Customs might have a fix . Maybe Escape might have one laying around . Maybe there is a plastic paste to do a repair . All I can think of . Oh one more, check RV refrigerator parts on the internet like a junk yard for RV parts . Hope you can find something . Pat

If you search, using the Google box at the bottom of Search, there are many threads on the subject. One of them may help ( but, I'm not gonna read them all to find out ).

Not sure your are wanting to replace the whole door but I found what looks to be the part number for the door on this website:

Laurelhurst Distributors Parts Breakdown - Dometic Refrigerators

This company appears to have a replacement door based on that part #:

Dometic 3851163034 Refrigerator DR ASM,FF,RM2350,L,BS,AUS - Doors - Refrigerator Parts - Refrigerators - RV Appliances

I've never heard of that company so it would be best to do your due diligence before ordering.

The LHC kit should work with the RM2354, but I would call and speak to Larry just to be sure it can be used to repair the exact issue you have.

Dyer's is a well known company. Along the same lines as e-trailer.

Little house of customs.

Emailed little house of customs and the hinge repair kit will not work on this model I called and talked to Reese and he felt he could make the new style door work. Going to see if the local dealer in Indio may be able to make one fit. If not I will limp home with this one.

Thx the reply’s!

Try Benlo RV in Indio. Same thing happened to us last year, and they attached a plate at the top and bottom of the door where the hinge pin attaches. Cost $100, but has worked fine ever since.

I end up going more and more to PDX RV LLC. They stock many repare parts for RV appliances. Does this look like the hinge part?

Thanks.

When you look at the parts breakdown that akmacs provided in post #4 that part is the hinge for the small interior freezer door.

This is the upper right hand hinge that would be needed for the RM2354 based on the parts breakdown, but I’m not sure it solves the problem.

Dometic RM2354 Door Crack

Hi Folks. I got the crack in my 2018 17B with a dometic RM2354 frig. Called dometic and they want $370 for the same door that would only happen again.

I thought I could do better so I decided to do my own fix. I took the door off, made some wooden patterns for a metal support plate. I bought some stainless plate for $3 at the steel yard. Plate is about 1/16 inch thickness. I sealed the cracks with super glue first after first pulling the grommet that the door hinge post fits into. I filled the cavity behind the grommet with with thickened epoxy and reset the grommet, making sure the pin could still fit in the grommet. Then I fabricated my plates. I used #8 inch and half screws to secure the hinge plate to the door.

Fun little project. Seems pretty sturdy. Time will tell.

Good job. Probably stronger than the original.
