If the refrigerator is functioning properly then, IMHO, there is no warranty issue to fix. Any scorching is a install issue not Dometics.

I vote with Jim.
If you take it back to the same place that did the install they should be able to unscrew the top of the vent and check for little (if any) charge as it's only 8 screws to remove and replace.
If it is scorched, they could attach some flashing over the wood to prevent more damage by just removing the screened lower portion and replacing it without needing to pull the fridge.

I agree with Charlie, who agrees with Jim, but gets deeper.
Dometic probably has no responsibility for it, but if you bring it back to the same place that put it in, their install would be at issue, if it's scorched.

I'm going back to the place who put it in. I will have them check. Thanks for your help.

Found this fridge fan I never installed in my old fridge during the "fix the fridge" frenzy a few years ago as Dometic replaced the old model with a new on under warranty thanks to Reace. Decided I would give it a try, and was surprised how it changed the fridge performance. Dual fans on the bottom intake and exhaust directly onto the fridge fins; differential between the freezer and fridge compartments increased greatly - freezer was about 12 degrees colder than without the fan and the fridge section hung around 37-40 degrees (this is on electric both with an empty and full fridge & freezer.) Ran the + wire out the drain tube; the ground just clips to the fridge fins. Wifey is delighted at hard fudge bars in the freezer.

I had one of those. I think CPAHarley may have posted them originally. I bought one but was disappointed with the result and got rid of it. With the replacement fridge (thanks Reace!) it may have been worth trying again.

Yes that is the set still in use in my Escapes. Unfortunately there was not enough interest in their product and they stopped. Interestingly though, since I have used this product in at least 2 newer units, smartrvproducts still supply me with the velcro patches needed for installation. Their fans work great and it has a light also.....
