For us the term "Panty Remover" was a label for Lemon Gin. Nasty stuff. It went down too easy for straight alcohol.

I don't know if this will help with the cup and it's evaporation or not. I extended the drain hose from the fridge to the cup. This allowed me to put a large loop in the drain hose before re-attaching it to the cup. That loop acts like the P-Trap under your sink. It takes very little water to keep the warm air out and the loop is large enough that going down the road is unlikely to clear the tube. So far I haven't seen it dry, but then I haven't been keeping a close eye on it. I'll do that on our next trip.

That should work since it serves the same purpose. My set up prevented me from doing this so I ended up just keeping the cup filled with water.

“You’ve made an excellent choice…yadda yadda…” “These instructions provide you with the necessary guidance for the proper use... yadda yadda…” “Energy-saving tips…yaddda yadda…” “Troubleshooting…etc.”

The Dometic operating instructions is 24 pages of mostly redundant corporate C.Y.A.-speak but after wading through every page in search of guidance on how to keep your fridge food cool and edible I found no, repeat no, not a single reference, to this feared alleged source of unwanted warming; the dreaded cup. Hello.

Hi: MyronL... It was on a private RV Co. web site that I ran across a reference to air infiltration into the fridge through the condensation drain hose. The trouble with Dometic is their way of doing things. Least expensive and other terms come to mind!!! The RM 8 series seems to be a total collection of those ways.
Our former 5.0 with the 5 cu. ft. fridge had a drip tray inside... no drain hose... and if you forgot to empty it, soggy veggies resulted. Alf

I believe it came from a video posted on Marx's rv site, the person who brought you "The 12v side of life " and other informational videos.

Actually cold air is denser than warm air. The loop trap in the condensation drain line or water in the collection cup limits the loss of cold air out of the refer box.

Oh, I stand corrected. So the cup was not first mentioned on a Trump Tweet.
