Screen Room Choices ?

Down to the wire on decisions & input needed.
Have read so much great Forum info that think synapses crossing & can't remember what people have said on this. Remember discussion on fans.
We go to FL to escape the "Muddy Month Of March in Michigan", but usually encounter no-see-ums as trade off.
Does anyone have the screen room and how do they like it?

My opinion would be to forgo the screen room and just get a separate bug tent that goes over a picnic table. Keeps the area under the awning less cluttered, gives you the flexibility to set it up in a possibly better suited place, and just leave it at home when not needed.

Be aware that the screen room requires the installation of 12 snaps on the side of the trailer to hold it against the wall so insects can't get in.
I've had no problems, but the snaps are there.

Screen on our boat attaches w/ snaps also. When in North Channel, Lk Huron, I have strips of polar fleece I cut that I insert between snaps. Those skeeters' radar for human blood give theem ability to find any sliver to squeeze through!

For those that have the screen room attachment, is there anything that would stop the bugs from coming in below the trailer? Is the screen room 3-sided or 4-sided?

there is a separate panel for the opening along the bottom of the trailer.

There is an apron that hangs to the ground from the trailer wall. That is the reason for most of the snaps. Otherwise, it is supported by the awning.

So i guess the question is whether those with screen rooms use them often and whether they think there is an advantage in having a screen room that attaches to the trailer. Our experience with screen tents has been that mosquitoes get in anyway, and sometimes birds.

This was discussed awhile ago and the Oregon folks seemed to have the best idea in using a fan. As you said Ruth the bugs get in anyway, so just blow those suckers away!

We have had good luck with our screen room with keeping the mossies out. Opening the access to come in and out usually allows for a few to get in. My wife just keeps a fly swatter handy.

I am usually outside anyway, as I ain't afraid of no mossie.

I never use bug dope, as I can't stand the stuff, and have built up a pretty good immunity to their bites, and if left alone they usually disappear after a few minutes.

Mosquitoes = Mossies = Skeeters = Blood Sucking Irritating Pests.

If the screen room is intended to stop the "Blood Sucking Irritating Pests", I don't think it is going to work on the in-laws!

Tks Jim. The Forum is very educational, increasing my vocabulary!
I can come in from garden covered w/ skeeter/mossie bites and not bat an eye.
The no-see-um bites drive me crazy!#@!?#!
