Several Electrical Problems

Hi,

I've recently purchased a 2004 Escape 17B. I'm having several electrical issues, which I will list:

-Range hood Fan, Range hood light, rear driver side reading light don't work (bulbs are good and wiring is intact)
- Furnace only works if trailer is plugged into AC power.
-But when the AC power is plugged in, the 30 amo realy switch trips every 5 seconds which shuts off all the power in the trailer for a split second.
-If I flip the fridge breaker off while plugged into AC power the 30 amp relay switch stops tripping.
- If I flip just the converter breaker off the relay switch doesn't trip anymore.

Has anyone heard of these problems on a esacpe before, I'm wondering if the convertor needsto be updated. it is a 6300 Parallax.

Thanks for any help, we are excited to start going camping soon, but can't until we sort out these problems.

Thanks,

Matt

Hi: mattyk23... In your location I'd make a repair appt. and tow over to ETI and have the folks there take a look. Electrical problems can be so simple... yet so complex.
My bro-n-law found one side of his 35' 5th. wheel electrical circuit not working due to some minor corrosion around one wire in an external GFI outlet. Alf

Hi, I took your advice and brought it over to an Electrical repair place after spending 3 nights trying to figure out the problems myself. Turns out the previous owner hooked up the battery terminal backwards, which caused a whole slew of problems, including a blown relay switch in my Jeep. $522.00 later its as good as new. It was a little pricey but at least I can go camping now. Thx.
