Shower Power

Has anyone ever tried to lengthen the outside shower hose? Actually I am thinking about a removable extension as the compartment only seems to be able to contain the original apparatus. I would like to be able to extend the hose to reach inside a portable outside shower compartment. If an extension could be purchased as opposed to fabricated, that would be better for me.

What size is the hose? Can you use a quick connect for hoses?

My "Suite Escape" is in storage and I think it is the same as the skinny one in the inside shower. If they had a small diameter quick-connect that would be even better. It may only have a 1/2" diameter, or some other, maybe proprietary, one. Good thought though. Thanks.

Donna, I cut the external shower hoze in the middle and added two quick disconnects ( https://quickcouplings.net/ ) so I can add a 25' extension hose and shower elsewhere. The hose dia. is 3/8". Here is a post of mine on the topic (#11) which shows the foldable enclosure I use...

Standard battery with solar

That is clever.
I understand that you connected a regular garden hose to the hose that comes from the out door shower faucet, correct? Do you recall the quick-connect part(s) that you purchased? I looked at the site from the link. They have tons. What a niche market! Thank you.

No. I used a high quality reinforced 3/8" hose to handle the hot water flow without deforming and having the connectors blow off. This is what it looks like and is available at hardware stores or McMaster Carr. (High-Pressure 3-A Sanitary Clear PVC Tubing)

These are the couplings I purchased from https://quickcouplings.net/. You would need two of each to take care of the original shower hose on each end then the entension hose as well.

APC17006 - 3/8 Hose Barb Non-valved In-Line CPC Coupling Body- $7.38
APC22006 - 3/8 Hose Barb Non-valved In-Line CPC Coupling Insert - $4.20

Thank You again! I would imagine there are others who are appreciating your detailed advice and input!
P.S. Is that the outside diameter on the hose?

Hose is always measured in the inside diameter.

Yes, I appreciate the information too. I want to add a longer hose to rinse our dogs off and for when we take outside showers.

Thanks!
