Been reading up on the difference between the Artis and the Shurflo revolution pumps. The Shurflo is quieter it appears because of the one piece diaphragm design, and more thermal insulation. The Artis manual warns to always turn the pump switch off when the unit is unattended, but the Shurflo doesn't have the warning. Based on what many have said here and in other forums, the Shurflo looks like a MUCH better pump.

A conventional pump cycles on and off to match required water flow if you have a faucet partway open. An accumulator smooths this out, but another option is a variable-speed pump... which is not cheap. Common brands have variable-speed versions.
