sidewall vent cover lost on highway

Does anyone know where to get a replacement vent cover for the lower refigerator vent on the 17B? I've seen some on various websites that are similar to ours, but not exactly the same. How big an issue would it be if you replaced with something very close in size but perhaps the holes didn't match up, for example?
Thanks.

One option might be to buy one from ETI (or get a link to their supplier); that way, it would be a perfect fit.

Mine blew off as well (due to my fault). Here's the reply I got fromEscape: You may want to try a local RV center for a "Norcold" 620505PW fridge vent cover. We sell the fridge vent covers for $52.50 plus applicable shipping and handling.
I ended up getting it on Amazon, sold by American RV for $34.29

You would be surprised what many RV shops have and they can order also.

We have all had problems with these clips. You might want to try this mod I came up with

Note that $52.50 Can. is $39.91 US with current exchange rate. So ETI price is not that bad.
Also note, that the vent cover linked does not look anything like the one on my 17B. Make sure you are ordering the right vent cover.

Never hurts to carry one or two of those little clips, either! I broke on a previous trailer, and fortunately discovered it before driving. Swapped out one from the inside heater temporarily.

To MOB2014: I found the Norcold part 620505PW on American RV's website. It looked identical but is too small to fit our 19 1/8 x 7 1/2 inch space. We're measuring the frame that USED to hold the vent cover. Did that replacement piece completely cover your opening? Wonder if the size changed from 2013 to 2014?

I always installed a mini bungee cord to secure that cover as a back up.

Gail, I think the AmericanRV site is listing the dimensions wrong. Those are the cutout dimensions - not the door dimensions. The cutout dimensions only apply to the base. The door overlaps the base.

On my 2014 17B, I only used the door of the Norcold part 620505PW. I did not have to replace the frame. The door blew away and the Norcold door was a perfect fit into the existing frame.

Right, only lost the door. I was just pointing out that the dimensions mentioned by a website selling the door were incorrect. They listed the cutout dimensions (the size of the hole you have to cut to mount the door frame) as the door dimensions.

We removed the frame from the fiberglass. It was broken anyway. The measurements of the opening in the fiberglass are just shy of what American RV claims their vent is. I'm thinking it's got to be the same part; looks identical. I contacted ETI and they will sell the replacement part for a reasonable $35, but shipping to NC is $45 USD. Hope their feelings won't be hurt if we try to buy it elsewhere. Thanks to those who gave advice!

Norcold part 620505PW received and measured to be EXACTLY the same as the original part. So this will work! Next step is to remove the hardened glue and caulk from the fiberglass (that secured the frame). Any ideas what works without any damage to the fiberglass?
Mob2014, thanks to your tip we saved $50 on the part & shipping......thanks!

Arrived home today after a 3 hour tow and the Sidewall Vent Cover on our 2017 - 19 was gone. We're assuming that it blew off in transit.

This thread was referring to older trailers, so we're just pointing this out for owners of newer models. Fridge is DM2663.

Our cover used to look like this one:

Looks like this now:

Yes, this is why I removed one of the interior screws and drilled a hole and screwed the cover back on, those plastic clips can break. Had you opened the hatch lately?

No, I'm not sure I've ever opened it. Will modify when I get the replacement. It was funny, we saw people passing us and looking over their shoulder and smiling. We figured they were looking at the brilliant white Escape.

In any event, the replacement is available on Amazon Prime

Here is the important question, did the propane blow out while under tow without the cover? Were you on propane coming home and see a rise in temperature?

try https://www.amazon.com/Norcold-62115.../dp/B004RCSY1O

you need to include the SKU after the /dp/ part on an amazon URL. you can delete everything *after* that.
