Sink Label Sticky

We are the owners of 15B. We peeled the label off the sink which has left a sticky substance on the sink surface. We have tried Vim, peanut butter, dish soap to try and get this off, which have not worked. Any suggestions which would not hurt the sink.

Thanks

Don & Sue

Re: Sink Label Sticky

What you want is Goo Gone. It's made for removing sticker adhesive.

Goo Gone should work. "Removes chewing gum, grease, tar, stickers, labels, tape residue, oil, blood, lipstick and mascara, shoe polish, crayon, bumper stickers." It has not failed me yet. It's available at stores like Home Depot and the like.

WD40 also works on removing adhesives.

What do you use to remove the smell of WD40?

I have replaced WD40 with Jigaloo. Does the same job and doesn't smell awful, and linger..........

To relieve the symptoms of dull and boring threads and get new and up to date info, I use Bagaloo. Thanks!

Re: Sink Label Sticky

When dealing with any adhesive, you sometimes have to try several different solvents (it depends on the nature of the chemical bonds in the adhesive). I usually start with regular lighter fluid, then rubbing alcohol, move up to one of the orange cleaners, and then trot out the big guns...Goof Off. Be careful with Goof Off - its a potent mix of solvents that can dissolve some plastics.

Re: Sink Label Sticky

Hi: All...Anybody up to trying to remove the pine goo streaks on the side and roof of "Our Escape Hatch"?
Short of cutting down the tree...I'm tired of scraping and rubbing. Goo Gone works after 3-4 apps. and 15min. of rubbing each goo drop., but there's so much goo to doo!!!
Tammy said to use Acetone but that's strong stuff too Alf
