If I recall, some of us had issues with the awning not retracting all the way, flush to the case.
Reace instructions were to loosen these metal blocks and adjust or spread them out to make it taut and the reverse for less taut. Once properly seated, retighten.

He's heading for the rodeo in Calgary and the rodeo. Go Tammy, Go! Hopefully they will let us know how she does in her events as I'm sure many, like us, enjoyed hearing about how she is competing for the first time and we'd love to know how it went.

Checking for looseness of those 7 set screws shown above is a good idea, but I strongly urge caution about making actual adjustments to any of the awning connections unless you have completely read the instructions and are very sure you know what you are doing.
Reace said it is still somewhat of a work in progress learning how to precisely make the various adjustments as they often do not come totally correct from Dometic. He spent quite a bit of time adjusting ours, and to get the awning to more completely retract on the ends, he worked on the other set of blocks - those on the leading edge of the awning.

My bad, you are correct, I mistakenly thought what I was looking at was on the awning edge, but now I see these are in the case part.

It would be most helpful to make awning issues a separate thread. We will be picking up our new Escape mid August and I am very interested in learning exactly how to properly adjust the awning. However I don't think i will find the information buried in this thread about replacing bathroom plumbing.

Hi War Eagle:
I am writing an article for RV West Magazine about Reace's 16,000 kilometre trip across the country to correct a warranty problem and am looking for photos. One of the members pointed me to you. Do you have higher resolution versions of these photos that I could use in an article? tim@birchcanoe.ca is my address.
(nice photos here!)
Best regards,
Tim

I doubt Reace would have the photos. Owners took them as he visited and repaired their trailers.

Oldtimer:
Reace did share some photos but he was more focused on repairing than recording the event. I thought the forum members likely had good photos. And I have interviewed him for this story already. The article will go up on RV West once I have five good photos.
Thanks,
Tim

FYI, My name is Thomas Fowler and I am not related to Timothy. My trailer seems to have had the misfortune to have the first sink water line burst which Rease repaired at the 2017 Escape rally but I am not in any way associated with this article.

Hi Folks:
The article I wrote about the trip Reace took to repair waterlines is here: Where’s [Waldo] Reace? | RVwest
Thanks for your help with this,
Tim
